The challenge on the ground
A green backup dashboard is not evidence that a business can recover. Missing application credentials, an unprotected SaaS workload or a restore procedure nobody has practised can delay recovery even when backup jobs succeed.
Scope starts with the services the organisation needs back first.
Inside the design
Use Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud as the service platform where its supported workloads and commercial terms fit the organisation. Inventory endpoints, physical/virtual servers and SaaS data separately.
Select the required backup and security capabilities per workload, and specify storage location, retention and access policy. EDR, MDR, disaster recovery and immutable storage are explicit scope choices; they are not implied by a generic backup licence.
Operating it day to day
Define recovery point and recovery time objectives with the business owner, then test whether the chosen storage and restore process can meet them. Separate backup administration from ordinary user accounts and protect it with MFA.
Monitor failed jobs and capacity, keep an escalation owner, and schedule sample restores. Record what is excluded so cloud applications and remote devices do not fall between responsibilities.
What to test before handover
- Restore a representative file and verify permissions and contents.
- Recover a test workload into an isolated environment and validate the application.
- Exercise loss of normal administrator access.
- Review retention, storage consumption, alerts and the signed workload inventory.

Questions before you specify
Is Acronis True Image the same as this managed service?
No. Consumer backup editions and managed Cyber Protect Cloud have different licensing and operating models. This design does not substitute a legacy retail SKU for the managed service.
Are EDR and disaster recovery included?
Only when explicitly selected and licensed for the relevant workload. The proposal lists the capabilities, storage and response responsibilities.
