Marine

Yacht networks, crew Wi-Fi and always-on connectivity at sea.

Marine projects are unforgiving: the network has to survive salt air and vibration, hold a usable link while the vessel moves between VSAT, Starlink and shore-side cellular, and keep guest, crew and bridge traffic strictly apart. Integrators working on superyachts and commercial vessels source the whole stack through FUSE — multi-WAN routers with cellular failover, industrial switches for the technical space, and access points rated for the deck-house environments where consumer hardware fails within a season.

The specification work usually turns on segregation and failover rather than raw throughput. A typical build runs separate VLANs for guest, crew, AV and vessel systems, with policy-based routing that keeps navigation and monitoring traffic on the most reliable path while bulk guest usage rides the cheapest available link. Hospitality

Hotels and resorts are density problems disguised as coverage problems. Guests arrive with three or four devices each, conference floors spike hard and unpredictably, and the review score attached to bad Wi-Fi follows the property for years. Integrators building these networks through FUSE typically standardise on a Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 access point family with per-room or per-corridor placement, aggregation switching with enough PoE budget for the full AP count, and a gateway that can hold captive-portal sessions for the whole house at peak occupancy.

The integration surface is what separates a hospitality deployment from a generic office one. Guest onboarding usually has to talk to the property management system — Opera, Mews or Cloudbeds — so room-number-and-surname authentication works on arrival, and logging has to be retained in a GDPR-defensible way. Around that sit IPTV, digital signage, door access and the back-of-house network for POS and kitchen systems, all of which FUSE stocks alongside the core networking so a single order covers the property.

Retail

Retail estates reward repeatability. The traffic profile is mixed and security-sensitive. Beyond the network, the classroom itself is a hardware project. Wireless presentation systems, cameras, speakerphones and headsets for hybrid and recorded teaching all have to work for non-technical staff on the first attempt, which usually means standardising on one family across every room rather than mixing whatever was cheapest each budget year.
